Therapeutic massage assists venous and lymphatic flow, clears muscles of metabolites and toxic by-products, allows faster recovery from activity, and promotes immune function. It can be helpful in the dispersal of edemas, and general relief of pain and tension. Selina has several different styles of massage that address different issues in the body.

Relaxation/Stress Therapy Massage alleviates the stress that adversely affects the body and mind in the form of hormone imbalances, tension, shallow breathing, HBP, insomnia, etc. A massage performed in a relaxing environment, with smooth slow strokes, and music with slow beat, will ease the effects of stress.

Sports Massage enables athletes to attain their highest potential. It can identify and eliminate a risk of injury by assessing the athlete's range of motion and balance of muscular strength. Sports massage can also restore mobility and flexibility in the event of injury, and reduce recovery time between workouts. Athletes get the most benefit from this type of work when it is done as part of the training process.

Myo-fascial or Deep Tissue releases places where movement is limited. Disuse, aging, injury, or repetitive strains can cause the thin tissue called fascia that surrounds the muscles to become locked up and restricted.  This restriction causes pain and a reduction in function.  The amount of pressure applied by the therapist should be sufficient to engage the tissue, but never to cause pain. Techniques are slow and sustained, and generally little or no oil is applied.

Trigger Point or Neuromuscular focuses on areas of increased tension within the muscle.  If this area is located near a motor nerve point, there can be referred pain. This is pain that is felt in places other than where the contact is applied. Any muscle can develop trigger points, with their accompanying pain and restricted motion.
